There was a saying that went around in the WWE in the late 90s that may soon make a return. "When you hear the glass, that's your ass." It's amazing how burned bridges mend in the wrestling world. It was less than a year ago that Stone Cold Steve Austin walked out on the WWE for whatever reason. Some say he was burned out and some say he was not happy with the way the WWE was going creatively. But for whatever reason, Austin walked out. Shortly after, he was in the news for assaulting his now former wife and wrestling star Debra. With all of the controversy, the only side of the story fans got was Vince McMahon's. Now Austin is on his way back and WWE Raw magazine will be releasing a 12-page interview with the Rattlesnake in which he will tell his side of the story. McMahon did not have warm things to say when Austin walked out, but Vinnie Mac always listens to his fans. The fans have never turned their back on Austin or forgot about him. This is very apparent because the "What" chants have never stopped, even in Austin's absence. Many thought Stone Cold would make his return on the Raw tenth anniversary show. Much to the fan's disappointment, Austin was not there when he won the superstar of the decade award. However, Vince McMahon accepted the award with a smug look and said the Stone Cold was not there because he was not invited. That is when I knew the rumors were true. Austin was definitely on his way back. Just the look and way Vince strutted out let me know that Austin would be back and have a can of whoop ass waiting for Vince. Then McMahon came out on Raw and threatened Eric Bischoff that if Raw was not better in the next month, then he would fire him. The next week Bischoff came out and invited Austin to come back to the WWE. The WWE would not even say anything if it wasn't a done deal. And when Bischoff came out last Monday and told the fans about the Raw magazine interview there was no doubt. So I'll bet my Austin 3:16 t-shirt that we will all see the Bionic Redneck drinking beer and raising hell very soon. Whether or not Austin will be brought back by Bischoff or not is still to be seen, but I do think we will see Austin back in the ring at Wrestlemania. And that's the bottom line.
