Covid Vaccine for Extra Credit?
Henderson State University tries to persuade students to get the vaccine.

As the 2020 year ended, the United States surpassed 20 million infections and more than 346,000 deaths from the Coronavirus disease. Globally, cases increased to 83,832,334 and 1,824,590 deaths.
Since this pandemic, there has been a vaccine developed late 2020. Companies, Businesses, and schools have began to receive the vaccine. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine which is a vaccine for people age 16 and older. It requires two injections given 21 days apart. Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is for people age 18 and older. It requires two injections given 28 days apart. Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine is for people age 18 and older. It requires one injection.
Here at Henderson State University, we have received many emails about the governor Asa Hutchinson opened vaccinations to college students who live in residence halls. Henderson State has also sent out emails stating that HSU is partnering with UAMS to provide a Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic for students, faculty and staff. The email ended with letting students know that if they participate they would receive a five dollar gift card that can be used at any food location on campus.
This sparked many student’s attention. A few professors even began to send emails, explaining to their students that they could receive 10 to 20 extra credit points if they receive the vaccinations and show their vaccination card.
Alot of people are against the Covid vaccinations, so the University is using different strategies to persuade more students to get vaccinated to help move the United States and world forward from this disease.
