The energy was electric in Duke Wells Friday evening, as the Men’s Basketball Team left out of the locker room to start practice. This practice was one that was getting the guys ready to take on Southern Arkansas University on Saturday. This game was a big one for the Reddies solely, because it was their next one, as try to scratch and claw their way to the top of the standings after a rough 1-3 start to their season. After practice a two of the players were asked the question, “What are some of the keys to beating Southern Arkansas on Saturday?” The interviewees were Henry Blair, a transfer junior guard from Ludowici, Georgia, and Xavier Davenport, a returning senior guard from Brooklyn, New York. Coach Jimmy Elgas has his guys focused on the details to winning this important matchup. The keys to the game seemed to be rebounding, playing hard, and playing together. The Reddies look to get over this recent, yet early cold spell to Southern Arkansas this time around. They previously lost to Southern Arkansas twice early this year, the first time being their first game of the year where the final score was, 77-83. The second lost was January 23, where they lost 66-68. In two games losses, the Reddies point deficit was only a total of five points, maybe this time they will be able to get over the slight hump against the early front runner of the conference on Saturday. The game is at 2:00 p.m. in Duke Wells Center, family and friends pass list only.
