The Steel holds strong

With the league just now finishing up their seventh week into the season many teams have experienced a certain rise or fall. Some teams have fizzled out while others have emerged from the dark as possible contenders going deeper into the season. Two teams have managed to live up to the hype so far while maintaining an undefeated record of 5-0. 

 

That first team is no other than the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the new editions added to the team and finally finding themselves in the offseason they have managed to successfully bounce back from last year’s disappointing season. One of those additions that have stepped up is Canadian born rookie receiver, Chase Claypool. Claypool along with already established star receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster have managed to make the Pittsburgh pass game something to fear alongside their lock-down defense. 

 

However, when it comes to stellar teams one can not simply leave out the Tennessee Titans and their impressive 5-0 run as well. The Titans have been using the same tools that allowed them to make their deep playoff run just last season. Derrick Henry has been having an amazing season while once again leading the league in rushing yards as well as carries. With Henry providing such products through the run game he has managed to make things so much easier for starting Quarterback Ryan Tannehill. 

 

The two teams met up at Nissan Stadium to battle it out and see which team still deserved to remain undefeated. The Steelers started off the game by taking a well-established lead while heading into half time.  However, the lead started to dwindle with a truly underwhelming performance from Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who managed to throw a total of three interceptions. Luckily for the Steelers, the Titans couldn’t complete their comeback because veteran kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed a last-second field that would have tied the game leaving the score 27-24 and the Steelers 6-0.
