Arkansas Primaries Voting in Arkadelphia

Victoria Stewart-Meyers, City Editor

If you registered to vote at least 30 days prior to March 3 you will be able to vote in the 2020 Arkansas Primaries. It doesn’t matter if you registered with a party affiliation or not, when you get to the polling station they will ask which ballot you want; Democrat, Republican or judicial. Early voting began on February 17th, but the regular voting is available in several polling stations here in Arkadelphia from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.

If your address has changed since you registered to vote and you still live in the same district, that’s ok, just change your address at the polls. However, if you’ve moved to a different county, you have until February 28, 2020 to update your address with your new County Clerk’s office. In Arkadelphia the address for the County Clerk is 401 Clay St #2, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

You will be asked for ID when you go to vote, but if your ID is lost you can still vote with a provisional ballot. There are election supervisors at the polling stations to answer questions or help if you have problems voting.
