The Reddies dramatically outshined the Rangers on senior day.

The defensive effort for Henderson was present throughout the entire game but was slowed down due to fouls as both teams found themselves in the double bonus.

Henderson State was hot from the three-point line early in the game making nine in the first half that gave them an 18-point lead at half time. HSU had a total of 16 assists moving the ball exceptionally which led to a balanced scoring attack by the whole team.

The Reddies didn’t give up the lead in the second half. Henderson outscored Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the fourth quarter to seal the last home win of the season by 19 points in an 81-62 win.

Three key seniors gave their final thoughts on what they will miss the most about playing at Henderson State and their best memories.

“My best memory playing at Henderson has probably been today honestly. Today was great! The atmosphere of like my friends on the team, my coach and the small community of all the softball girls, and like volleyball, baseball, football all them coming to all of our games and just like the small-town community support” Senior Forward Brooke Lewis.

“All of the games! We came in and it was rough, and I guess my favorite thing about all of it is how close we got and just the relationships we’ve built. I don’t think I’m necessarily going to miss this place, just the people in it” Senior Guard Pink Jones.

“I’m honestly just going to miss the team and everything, we are a family and we’ve been through a lot especially the five seniors. Us together we have gone through literally hell and back on this team. It’s going to be something that I am going to remember every moment of this and cherish every moment of it and I’m going to miss it a lot” Senior Guard Hailey Estes.

The Reddies will look to continue their win streak on Thursday, February 27, 2020, against Southeastern Oklahoma State University at 5:00 pm.
