After being victorious on the road, the Reddies returned home to play the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm.

In the first quarter, Southern Nazarene struck first and missed the extra-point. The Reddies didn’t take long to strike back however, Quarterback Richie Stammetti drove his team down the field and connected with L’liott Curry from 12 yards out to tie the game.

From there, the Reddies would take control of the game completely, shutting the Storm out for the rest of the game.

HSU had a big game through the air. Curry, and Junior Receiver Chase Lodree both toppled the 100-yard mark receiving. Senior Doug Johnson caught seven passes for 96 yards.

After coming off a three-touchdown, 178-yard performance against Oklahoma Baptist, Curry had another impressive showing scoring two touchdowns and 103 yards on 12 catches. The senior is having a large impact but continues to put the team first.

“My goal going into this game was to get the win for my team, I am not worried about the accolades of how many touchdowns I get each game, I do everything for my team and that’s exactly what we did tonight to secure this win,” Curry said

The play of the game was when Lodree took a pass for 55 yards down to the 5-yard line to set up Senior Running back Quaralle Hall for his first touchdown of the season.

The Reddies dominated the game from the start and went on to win by a score of 34-6

“The first quarter we were very lethargic and a little sloppy and in the second quarter we came out and got a lot of momentum and scored a lot of points, the goal every week is to win and we did that again tonight.” Head Coach Scott Maxfield said.

The Reddies are 2-0 heading into their matchup with Arkansas Tech, a team that took them down to the wire last season. The two teams will square off at Carpenter Haygood Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on September 21st
