On February 12 and 13 S.A.B. (student activities board) held an event called Cards for Carnations. Cards for Carnations was put on by the special interest committee for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

The event allowed students, faculty, and staff to create an Electronic-Valentine’s Day Card for children at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Creating the card was very quick and easy, all participants had to do was choose the design of the card, pick what they wanted it to say, and then type their name. After filling out the card participants could take either a white or pink carnation if they chose to do so.

It is estimated that around 400 people filled out a card over those two days. This was a great event because it benefitted a great cause. Many children at Arkansas Children’s hospital are very sick, or recovering from a serious illness, so these cards allowed them to see that people are supporting them and care about them.
