minimum wage increase story blog

Keylee Harrell, Student Reporter

This week in the practicum I did a story on the minimum wage increase that voters passed during the midterm elections and how it will affect jobs on campus. I talked to the director of financial aid to find out how it will affect on campus jobs. I learned that it will affect jobs on campus just like any other job and wages will increase to $9.50 starting in the spring 2019 semester. They will also not reduce the number of jobs available. This is good news for people employed on campus. It was a fairly short story but had very important information that students may want to know.
