I’m glad that I got assigned to do a story over the choir concert because it was fun to watch. A lot of surprising things happened during the performance, even having a whistling soloist. It was also good to see where the choir’s ended up after talking to the new director and a few freshmen earlier during the semester. The only thing that sucked was how heavily it was raining on the day of the concert, with water high enough for my foot to get soaked just walking to the door of the church. The good thing about this is that the rain made the concert seem even better by comparison. It was storming outside, but inside the building you can barely hear any thunder or rain over the singing of the choir. Because each song that sang had noticeable differences, I couldn’t stop taking small notes on my program. I took note of things that seemed to surprise the crowd, how the soloists sang, and odd things that added flair to the concert. It was a fun experience, and you could tell how much the crowd loved it just by how many people stayed for a while talking to choir members and the director instead of just heading directly out of the door after the concert.
